How to Get Started
STEPS AND PROCEDURES TO BUILD YOUR NEW UNIBILT HOME
- Select from one of our standard floor plans or work with a sales consultant to help design a custom plan to your needs
- Select a turnkey home provided by Unibilt Homes or you can be your own general contractor for your new home
- Contact the local health department to conduct a site survey
- Contact the local electric company for an application and to conduct a site survey for electrical service to the home’s location
- Contact the local telephone and cable company for service
- Contact a sales consultant for a price quote on one of our plans or your own plan
- Schedule a site evaluation with our construction manager
- Provide Unibilt Homes with a copy of your deed and a surveyed plot plan
- Finalize the quote, sign contract, and choose colors for your new home – such as siding, roofing, countertops, and floor coverings
- Make application for a construction loan with financial institution (Unibilt Homes will provide preliminary plans and a contract)
- At the loan closing – A deposit is required in order to turn the order into the factory for your home to be built (If a loan is not required, the funds must be escrowed with a title company)
- Final architectural drawing completed
- Acquire Zoning, Health Department, Building, Electrical, Plumbing and HVAC permits
- Construction of foundation
- Once the foundation is completed, the home will be scheduled for delivery
- Once the home is placed on the foundation, the remainder of the site work will be scheduled to be worked on (such as the garage, porch, utility work, well/water service, septic system/sewer service per contract
- Completion of your home once it is on the foundation will take approximately 6 to 16 weeks depending on the scope of work to your new home.
- Once everything is complete per the contract, you are ready to move in and enjoy your new home!
